META Performing Arts Welcomes you!  META stands for Multicultural Education in the Theatre Arts. Formerly known as Northwest Children's Theatre, META is the exciting home of theater arts for youth from the greater Skagit Valley region. We offer live theater performances for children and teenagers twice a year, as well as a summer performing arts camp.

 

Our Mission: To nurture the spirit of our youth by offering education and development of life skills through the creative process of the performing arts, to embrace the diversity of our community, and to reach out to those underserved and at-risk.

Fiddler on the Roof has become the worlds most acclaimed musical receiving accolades for productions in more than 30 countries since it premiered on Broadway over 35 years ago. Not only is it the winner of 9 Tony Awards, but it is the longest running Broadway musical of its time. Set in 1905 in Anatevka, a small Ukrainian Jewish village in Russia, the much loved character of Tevye, the milkman attempts to preserve his family’s traditions in the face of a changing world.

 META's  December, 2002 production featured internationally renown actor/violinist Swil Kanim who recently starred in Sherman Alexie’s film, “The Business of Fancy Dancing”.
